the mp3redux is a pc/104 expansion-board to be built by any skilled
hobbyist.
it implements:
- a mp3-player
- an interface to variable sized lc-displays (plcdio-style)
- one or two radio tuner modules with rds/rdbs
- push-buttons and a "wheel"
- a ir-remote sensor
- an additional mono and a stereo line-in
- rs-232's to connect a gps receiver (not part of project)
- a cd(-rom) drive (not part of project)
i tried to keep complexity and part-/system-cost reasonable.
linux drivers are available for every "special" part:
- a character-device for mp3, just "cat" mp3 files to the
device node; a simple player, mpg123 remote-mode emulation available
- a special wiring for lcdproc-hd44780 modules, several special
lcdproc and console drivers for t6963 and sed1335, although not for current
lcdproc versions
- a v4l-driver for radio including rds-support, tools to decode rds and tmc
- a input-core event-driver for buttons/wheel and outputs, demo apps
- a lirc driver for ir
- a mixer-driver for the source selector (oss-compatible)
- various small tools for testing/decoding/demoing
